And folks, this tall drink of water is the bass singer. For 35 years, Dan has been singing gospel music in the 24-voice choir, and in small groups at the First
Christian Church in Somerset, PA. The most memorable events were always the annual
Easter and Christmas cantatas under the direction of Jack Dice, who served as choir director for 50 years.
Dan has always been a fan of The Cathedrals, Gold City, and The Inspirations. It was after attending an Inspirations concert with long-time southern gospel fan,
and First Christian Church Associate Pastor, John Barchey, that Dan decided to join an on-the-road quartet.
He sang first with March Forth Quartet. Dan has been singing with Keystone State Quartet since October of 2006.
It has been a great pleasure to have had the opportunity to sing with Tom, Jim, Bill, Julie and now Kim.
Dan is so thankful to his parents, Dean (Doc) and Jane Mickey for
a Christian upbringing and their love and support of his music ministry. Dan
makes his home in Somerset, PA and is married to Judi. They have two sons, Danny
and Jack. A dog named, Maggie, completes the family. Dan extends his thanks to his family as well for all the love and support they provide. When he isn’t singing, Dan is the main office branch manager at Somerset Trust Company, and
maintains the finances of KSQ.
He doesn’t say much, but what he does say is important, so listen
closely. He is the 6’2" tall fellow that you’ll see in the 5’
trailer packing the equipment in its proper place.
